Frigid temperatures are proven to be extremely beneficial to the skin. I have been a longtime advocate of cold therapy and have used it in different forms since I began my career. With the addition of the Cryo 6 machine, I am able to perform Cryo Facials both in both my Dallas and New York Studios.
Because of its “healing” properties, cold therapy treatment can be localized to different parts of the body, which makes it perfect to use in facials! During our Cryo Facial, cryogenically cooled air is blown onto the face; it is non-invasive, pain-free, and has many wonderful benefits, which makes it extremely popular among my clients.
The cryogenically cooled air helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, which tightens the skin. The cold air helps relieve inflamed areas by causing blood vessels to vasodilate (widen), which increases the absorption of the product. Additionally, this therapy helps to remove toxins and CO2 from the superficial layers of the skin. It also calms down redness and inflammation, which makes it a great option for clients with rosacea or eczema. After a Cryo Facial, skin looks smoother, tighter, and truly luminous. You can benefit from a singular treatment, but for best results, I recommend 6 consecutive treatments 1-2 times per week.
For follow up care at home, there are some terrific products that enhance the results of this treatment (such as Circcell’s Insight Collagen Eye Treatment Masks). Pro tip - keep them in the fridge for an instant cooling effect. I also love to run an ice cube or my Facial Massager (that I love to keep in the fridge) over a sheet mask (like 111Skin’s Bio Cellulose Treatment Masks) -- this will help to seal the mask’s serum into the skin with all of the benefits of the cold temperature on the skin.
