Frigid temperatures are proven to be extremely beneficial to the skin. I have been a longtime advocate of cold therapy and have used it in different forms since I began my career.
With the addition of the Cryo 6 machine this year, I am able to perform Cryo Facials both in both my Dallas and New York Studios.
Because of its “healing” properties, cold therapy treatment can be localized to different parts of the body, which makes it perfect to use in facials! During our Cryo Facial, cryogenically cooled air is blown onto the face; it is non-invasive, pain free, and has many wonderful benefits, which makes it extremely popular among my clients.
The cryogenically cooled air helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, which tightens the skin. The cold air helps relieve inflamed areas by causing blood vessels to vasodilate (widen), which increases the absorption of product. Additionally, this therapy helps to remove toxins and CO2 from the superficial layers of the skin. It also calms down redness and inflammation, which makes it a great option for clients with rosacea or eczema. After a Cryo Facial, skin looks smoother, tighter, and truly luminous.
For follow up care at home, there are some terrific products that enhance the results of this treatment, keep them in the fridge or freezer for an instant cooling effect. I also love to run an ice cube over a sheet mask -- this will help to seal the mask’s serum into the skin with all of the benefits of of the cold temperature.
