For the last 4 summers, I have been coming to Sag Harbor, NY where I set up a Pop-Up Studio for the month of August. Although I spend my days performing treatments, and not frolicking in the waves, I find myself more relaxed just being here. Established by English colonists in the early 1700s, Sag Harbor has retained a quaint small town feel in the middle of the Hamptons. Its proximity to water, mixed with its rich history and laid back vibe, it makes me happy.
The town is filled with small curated shops, good restaurants, a grocery store and a marina with some pretty impressive boats.
My current Sag Harbor favorites include:
Bloom (43 Madison Street 631.725.5940)
This hidden gem stands out in a town filled with great home design boutiques. Owner Mona Nerenberg has a terrific eye. She has carefully curated a beautiful selection of merchandise in my favorite palette, white, grey and navy, and does not waver from it. I found the best towels, blankets, tableware and pajamas this trip. I would take everything if I could!
The homemade, healthy offerings at this cool gourmet shop are all I need. Most of my meals during my stay come from this beautiful market. Owners Abbey Warsh and Susi Del Favero are two of the warmest women who I am happy to call friends.
Henry Lehr (102 Main Street 631.808.3250)
This clothing boutique has great choices for easy style (my favorite kind). From t-shirts to slip dresses, to a great accessory, I always find something great for the summer.
While I don’t go out to eat very often during my stay, this restaurant owned by Gabby Karan is one of my very favorites. The food, design and crowd is gorgeous. A little bit of Italy on Main street.
Personal Trainer Natalia Poggi (email@example.com)
This Argentinian born trainer was a recent discovery and one that I am so happy to have found. As a former athlete in my 50’s, I consider working out an important part of my life and try to do it at least 3-4x per week. Natalia is tough as nails in the best way. She kicks my butt, and my body thanks her!
Created by former beauty editor Kim Van Dang, this boutique has some of the most unique fragrances and candles along with some cool fashion, accessories, and art. Kim has an interesting story behind every line she carries and I never leave empty handed. Make sure to ask her about the Chanel Surfboard (it’s for sale).
A great place for natural beauty and health remedies, I always end up needing some last minute things that I can only find here.
