Cold therapy is used to treat a variety of skin conditions including rosacea dermatitis and psoriasis. It reduces redness, swelling and minimizes pores by diminishing swollen tissue and broken capillaries.  It has draining, decongesting, de-puffing, and firming effects, and assists with the delivery of products, allowing them to penetrate deeper into the pores. Used properly, it can help you achieve clearer, more radiant skin.

I have always used cold therapy in my treatments and personal home routine  with cryo facials, ice cubes, storing certain products in the refrigerator and my favorite Cryo-Sticks from Biologique Recherche.

These sculptural tools are a wonderful way to easily incorporate the benefits of cold therapy. Made of stainless steel, they retain their temperature very well and you can store them in your refrigerator for maximum cooling effect. Their ergonomic shape allows them to mold to many parts of your face and neck for a thorough treatment.

The Cryo-Sticks are great to use as an eye treatment for puffy eyes. As you gently place the sticks over your eyes, the cold diffuses to reduce redness and inflammation. I especially love using the Cryo-Sticks over a hydrating sheet mask like Meder’s Hydra-Fill when my skin feels irritated. The massaging action over the hydrating mask helps stimulate blood flow and reduces redness, and also helps seal the mask’s serum into the skin.  Pro tip: I also like to use these Cryo-Sticks on my temples when I have a migraine.
