You cannot talk about skin without mentioning the body. Your neck up is your vanity, but the neck down is your health. Our skin is the body's largest organ, with only a small percentage dedicated to our face. It regulates temperature and is vital in acting as an immune gatekeeper, protecting our organs. Given these facts, if we want to maintain optimal skin health, it is just as important to focus on skincare for our bodies as it is for our faces. Taking care of yourself, inside and out — and from head to toe — has always been important to me, and I wanted to create products that were an extension of that belief.

The Details

The skin on our bodies is different from our face, neck, and chest, which are thinner and have more oil glands. Our body has thicker skin with fewer oil glands and a more substantial layer of fat underneath, yielding drier skin but fewer wrinkles than the face. It also goes through more wear and tear, especially our feet, knees, and elbows.

I don't advise excessively scrubbing your face; otherwise, you will disrupt its natural protective barrier. On the other hand, our bodies can benefit from mild daily exfoliation. The Body Wash and Back Wash Pads gently exfoliate, providing a deeper cleanse and eliminating dry, dead skin cells. Once your skin is clear, it can absorb moisturizers and other products much more effectively. Both are made of locally sourced linen and cotton, fair trade certified, and made in Canada.

The Body Wash Pads:

I use these every day in the bath or shower with my favorite body wash. The two lightly exfoliating pads help cleanse the skin, shed dead skin cells, and boost circulation, especially when paired with a massage.

The Back Wash Pad:

The oversized Back Wash Pad is perfect for scrubbing those hard-to-reach areas in the bath or shower. The double handle and longer length help gently exfoliate and cleanse your upper back, which tends to get bumpy and can be especially hard to reach. Your skin will be much softer and smoother after just one use.

How to use the Body Wash Pads and Back Wash Pad

Incorporating body massage while cleansing with the two Body Wash Pads will stimulate blood flow and circulation. Just wet the wash pad, apply soap or body wash, and rub all over the body, paying special attention to dry patches.

The Back Wash Pad is prepped the same way. You'll then move it across the back side of your body while holding on to each strap. Rinse and then hang it from the handle to dry. Both accessories are machine washable so that you can toss them in the laundry along with your towel.
