Decyl Glucoside: A mild cleansing agent made from a combination of coconut based fatty alcohols (c8-16) and glucose.
Lauryl Glucoside: A mild, non-ionic surfactant made from coconut and palm oil plus glucose from corn that combines for excellent foaming capacity. Similar levels of foaming typically require sulfates or nonbiodegradable polymers, which we avoid.
Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate: A natural food grade emulsifier derived from the sodium salt of lactic acid that is esterified with lauric acid, which makes for a great biodegradable and safe foaming agent.
Glycerin: An important natural component of the skin and a powerful humectant, studies show glycerin combined with emollients speed healing, reduce irritation and restore normal skin barrier function by maintaining water levels in the skin.
Betaine: A gentle hydrating ingredient that may be plant-derived or synthetic, it naturally occurs in skin and the body. It is known as an osmolyte, an ingredient that helps skin adapt to moisture losses and gains, essentially working to balance the skin's hydration.
Cetearyl olivate: An emulsifier made with fatty acids from olive oil and sugar used to maintain the cream’s carefully crafted balance of oils and water. When mixed with sorbitan olivate the combination mimics the skin’s lipid bilayer promoting affinity with the skin to improve absorption.
Sorbitan olivate: An emulsifier containing fatty acids from olive oil and sugar used to maintain the cream’s carefully crafted balance of oils and water. When mixed with cetearyl olivate, the combination mimics the skin’s lipid bilayer promoting affinity with the skin to improve absorption. Ours is COSMOS approved, biodegradable and non-comedogenic.
Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate: A chelating agent that prevents the binding of metal ions and is made from biodegradable and renewable materials.
Xanthan gum: A thickening and stabilizing agent made from the fermentation of plant-derived sugars.
Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate: A probiotic extract to naturally prevent the overgrowth of unwanted bacteria and fungus. Ours is EcoCert approved and GMO-free.
Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate: A surfactant and cleansing agent made from natural amino acids that is biodegradable.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice: A water-containing and plant-made mixture of sugar and fats that hydrate the skin. Ours is certified organic and GMO-free.
Brassica Alcohol: A plant based high-load emulsifier that acts as a thickening agent.
Brassicyl Valinate Esylate: A conditioning agent from fermented rice and sugar cane that helps soften hair and prevent tangles.
Brassica Glycerides: An emulsifier that helps soften the skin, made from brassica rapa seed oil, and 100% natural.
Caprylyl Glycol: A moisturizing humectant with antimicrobial properties made from fatty acids found in coconut oils.
Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil: A non-volatile, non-fragrant oil with a high saturated fatty acid content, which replenishes the skin’s vital substances to keep it looking healthy and younger-looking. Its antioxidant properties aid in skin’s anti-pollution defense, while also visibly diminishing wrinkles and other signs of aging. It is one of the few naturally delicious smelling oils that does not have a volatile component that irritates skin—instead it’s completely soothing.
Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil: A very stable occlusive oil that helps prevent dehydration. It functions as an emollient and softening agent in skin care and hair care products. Research has shown these compounds can inhibit collagen-degrading enzymes in skin and help offset the negative impact of UVB light exposure (but just to be clear, these ingredients do not replace the need for broad spectrum sunscreen). The long-chain fatty acids in this plant oil have chemical similarity to some of the fatty acids found in skin’s own oil, so in theory it’s certainly possible meadowfoam oil would help deliver other oil-based (lipophilic) ingredients to our skin.
Citric Acid: Plant-derived Vitamin C used to maintain the pH of the product.
