I have been using LED (Light Emitting Diode) Therapy in my treatments and on myself at home for over 20 years. It is a non-invasive way to naturally improve skin health. It provides so many benefits, including: boosting collagen production, combating acne and redness, increasing product efficacy, and alleviating muscle and joint pain (among others.) It is also safe and painless, making it ideal for all skin conditions, and can even be used on chemotherapy patients.

With LED, I can treat my clients’ fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and acne, and it can also increase collagen production. The only device that I highly recommend for home use is The Celluma PRO LED Panel. It is a Class II medical device featuring professional-grade LEDs with three treatment modes and is FDA-cleared for the treatment of full-face wrinkles. The “Wrinkles” setting uses red LED, “Acne” uses blue LED, and “Aches & Pains” uses infrared LED.

Below is a breakdown of the benefits of each LED color:

  • Red light increases collagen and elastin production, which helps to firm the skin and diminish existing wrinkles. It also increases circulation and product penetration while relieving inflammation. Red light therapy aids in the stimulation of fibroblasts in the connective tissue, which is responsible for producing collagen. Red is the deepest, and its depth helps to aid in the stimulation of cells, releasing adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is the major carrier of energy to all cells. This increases RNA and DNA synthesis, which helps replace older or damaged cells, making it perfect for anyone looking to slow down the aging process. I also use it on the fragile décolletage and body.
  • Blue light forms Oxygen radicals when the skin is exposed to it, ultimately killing acne-causing bacteria. It is extremely effective to control breakouts and bacterial rosacea. It can also help decrease cold sores and some types of dermatitis.
  • Infrared heats the tissues from within, so this is very effective for sore muscles and joints. It also has nerve-regenerating qualities, so it can be helpful for neuralgia.

The Cellimo Pro’s elongated flexible panel is so versatile - users can dome it over the face, wrap it around extremities or lay it flat over the body. The control panel is set to shut off automatically after 30 minutes and has a Pulse option for an intensified treatment. It also comes with universal travel adapters and protective goggles.

For best results, the Celluma PRO should be used four times per week for 30 minutes. First, cleanse and tone the skin, then place the Celluma PRO over the treatment area and select the desired program. When using over the face, always be sure to wear the included protective goggles. After treatment, mist the skin with a hydrating toner and continue with the rest of your routine.

Pro Tips:

To boost the efficacy of the Environ Mela Program, use the “Wrinkles” setting to increase product penetration. Cleanse and tone with your recommended formula of

Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 or Environ Botanical Infused Moisturizing Toner, apply Environ Mela-Prep Lotion and Environ Mela-Fade Serums A & B. Position the Celluma PRO on the “Wrinkles” setting for 20-30 minutes. When finished, complete your routine with Environ C-Boost Mela-Even Cream and your recommended vitamin A product.

For a great pre-event glow, use the Celluma PRO over a clear bio-cellulose sheet mask. Cleanse, tone, apply your water-based serums, and apply 111Skin Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Sheet Mask. Position the Celluma PRO on the “Wrinkles” setting for 20-30 minutes. When finished, apply Joanna Czech The Balm for a brilliant glow.
