Microneedling can be a wonderful home treatment. It’s primary benefit is that the micro-funnels it creates allow products to penetrate deeper into the skin, increasing their efficacy.  So, if you want to address uneven skin tone, the appearance of fine lines, scarring or dehydration, simply follow with the proper product.

My favorite microneedling tool is Environ’s Gold Roll CIT. The elegant, hand-held instrument is 14ct gold plated and has 260 ultra-fine needles (.2mm) of the highest-grade surgical 316 stainless steel. I  love the weight of this roller. It is easy to hold, feels good in the hand, gives you more control, and doesn’t require a lot of pressure on the skin.

While the gold on this  roller is naturally antibacterial, it is still important to wash it at least once a week, and run it under warm water after each use. I recommend cleaning the roller with Environ Instrument Cleaning Solution once a week, and replacing after about a year.

When first starting this treatment, use the roller a maximum of twice a week and gradually increase to daily use. Be careful not to use the gold roller if you are experiencing any breakouts or blemishes as  you could do more damage than good.
